Hey there!

My name is Dianmarie De Jesus 👋 I’m diving into a new chapter, one that involves a lot of clay, a spinning wheel, and quite possibly a fair share of messy mishaps. Yes, you guessed it—I’m delving into pottery!

Now, let’s be real here. I’ve never been the most graceful when it comes to crafting with my hands. In fact, I’ve often joked that my attempts at anything remotely artistic could pass for modern abstract art (emphasis on the “abstract”). But hey, what’s life without a bit of challenge and the willingness to embrace being a total newbie?

One of the biggest lessons pottery has already taught me is that the journey itself is where the magic happens. It’s not just about creating a perfect bowl or vase on the wheel (although, let’s face it, that’s definitely a goal!). It’s about the process—the feeling of clay between my fingers, the rhythmic whirl of the wheel, and the joy of seeing something take shape under my hands, even if it’s not quite Instagram-worthy yet.

And let’s talk about those inevitable crashes and fails. They happen. Bowls collapse, vases tilt at awkward angles, and sometimes, the entire masterpiece-in-progress ends up resembling a misshapen blob. But you know what? That’s okay. Failure is just another step on this journey of learning and growth.

So, here I am, eagerly stepping into this new world of pottery with open arms and a willingness to embrace every bump along the way. I’m excited to share this journey with you all—the successes, the failures, and everything in between. Who knows? Maybe one day, I’ll look back at these early attempts and marvel at how far I’ve come.

Cheers to embracing new skills, finding joy in the process, and being okay with completely sucking at something (for now)!

Please enjoy my very embarrassing first attempts:
